SWIMMING TRAINING . The development and advancement of all strokes and turns . Use a variety of stroke drills to foster better stroke techniques . Teach and work on push-offs - streamlines - breakouts . Teach and work on all turns . Teach and work on all starts
~ It is well worth time spent on focusing on the above mentioned items, as this is often over-looked by most programs ~ ~ Poor mechanics or inability to do a stroke/skill is very limiting. Equally limiting to the maximizing of performance is poor stroke mechanics ~
DIVING TRAINING ~ Still working on putting it all together ~ . To learn the proper mechanics of competitive diving, which include: Approaches from the front and back positions, forward and backward take-offs, and dives from all categories. . Diving takes time to learn the proper lead-ups in order to safely and appropriately carry out a feet first and head first entry. Dry-land work (ex: stretching in the 3 positions, learning the approach steps, and balance) are integral components to control on the board and in the air.
